The Maltipoo breed has existed since antiquity. It originated from a cross between the Maltese and the Miniature Poodle.
Best known in the USA, this "ball of tenderness" has won over many celebrities and is enjoying growing success in many parts of the world, particularly in Europe.
Its naturally regal elegance places it in the category of "luxury" dogs . It particularly appreciates comfort and the attention it receives. Its coat is silky and the Maltipoo doesn't shed. This miniature plush toy can be, according to your preferences, apricot, fawn, champagne, white , or black.
Its small size, cheerful disposition , and intelligence make it the perfect family pet. Playful and very sociable , it will be an ideal playmate for your children and other animals alike. These qualities come from its ancestry: the gentleness of the Maltese and the joy of the Poodle.
Practical information about Maltipoo
The Maltipoo can live an average of 15 years . Several factors can influence its longevity, such as exercise and diet . Its adult size is an important factor because the smaller the dog, the longer it will live, as its growth will be much slower.
The Maltipoo was selected for its qualities: good humor, intelligence, docility and gentleness.
It sheds little, like the Miniature Poodle, very popular in the 1980s, and the Maltese from which it originates.
His name is a combination of his ancestors' names: "Malti…" for Maltese and "…Poo" for Poodle, the English name for the poodle, appreciated for its kindness, docility and elegance.
Easy to train, he loves children and other sociable animals . He is an easy dog to transport and keep in an apartment.
It requires regular maintenance as its coat tangles easily. Three to five grooming sessions per year are necessary.
